My project, “Nets of Time: Kochi's Fishing Chronicles” is a 12-photo series that dives into the heart of Kochi's fishing life, where the air hangs thick with the scent of fish, and the ancient Chinese nets sway timelessly against a backdrop of modern hustle. Mixing black-and-white with color frames, I aimed to capture the surreal yet everyday nature of this world—where tradition battles quietly with modernity. The omnipresence of cats, fish vendors, and fishermen contrasts with the transient nature of the tides and the fleeting moments of a day’s catch, reflecting a balance between permanence and impermanence in this ecosystem. Each shot was taken on the Sony A7IV and refined in Adobe Lightroom.
